February is all about leadership

And March and April will too…

Because we’ve reviewed the data and listened to the feedback. Organisations are telling us that they want more support for their leaders – so they can better support their teams.

When people are happy and thriving at work, everything else just works too!

But if things aren’t quite right in your workplace right now, there are some red flags you should be looking out for.

These red flags can be signs that your leaders need more support.

Have you got any of these red flags 🚩going up in your workplace?

Big egos – having all the answers, not listening to others and not delegating tasks.

Unregulated emotions – lack of awareness around emotional triggers, lack of empathy, negativity.

Resistance to change – inflexible, fixed mindsets, discomfort.

Feedback avoidance – not willing to hear from others, taking it personal, making things mean something else.

Inauthenticity – being fake, not showing vulnerability, blaming others.

Leaders, regardless of how long they’ve been in the role benefit from training specifically designed to build their coaching skills. Coaching skills are the key to building positive workplace cultures.

If you’re experiencing some workplace challenges, we’re here to help!

What’s the must-have trait for leaders?

Is it resilience? Or vision? Or drive?

No, it’s not!

In her latest blog, Maria discusses which specific trait all leaders need to have and why it’s so important to develop.

Unpopular opinion…

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I think leaders are being too empathetic. To the point where they are feeling burnt out.

While empathy is important, deeply feeling and taking on other people’s emotions can lead to empathy fatigue.

And this is a contributing factor to leaders feeling exhausted and overwhelmed.

Overemphasising empathy and care for team members can also lead to a lack of constructive feedback, avoiding making difficult decisions, and creating a workplace culture where underperformance is accepted.

Great leaders balance empathy with firm decision-making, ensuring both people and results are prioritised. We can help your leaders develop self-awareness and understand how to manage their energy levels.

As we head towards the federal election, we know disruption and change is on the cards. It’s a time when leaders will need to provide their teams with reassurance and support, while making sure they don’t take too much on themselves.

Chris and I are hosting a FREE insights session on February 19th at 3.30pm – it’s a chance to help you unpack your biggest leadership challenges.

I’m looking forward to providing leaders with insights and tools to help them overcome their struggles so they can continue to thrive at work and build positive workplace cultures.

“The Insights Series”
A short & sharp session to help you overcome your biggest leadership challenges in 2025 – February 18th 2025 at 3.30pm via TEAMS.

How can leaders improve their conflict management skills? One of my favourite tools to use with teams is called Above and Below the Line & BADJER.

It’s a simple, but oh-so-effective tool to help leaders identify behaviours in teams that can cause conflict, leading to a breakdown in trust and relationships.

𝐁𝐀𝐃𝐉𝐄𝐑 is a handy acronym to remember to identify behaviours that are ‘below the line.’

𝐁- Blame

𝐀 – Accuse

𝐃 – Denial

𝐉 – Judgement

𝐄 – Excuses

𝐑 – Recruitment

When these behaviours creep in, they can erode connection and trust. Bringing teams together to talk about positive or ‘Above the Line’ behaviours is a way to overcome BAJDER behaviours.

Creating ‘we will and we won’t’ behaviours are a fantastic way of bringing awareness to how people show up in team environments.

Give it a go today!
